Upstairs Office
Mrs. Foster described the room which she converted to her office as being decorated in “early attic”. Nothing matched, furniture was marred, scratched and torn. Mrs. Foster conducted much of her state business here and it needed to be presentable. Unquestionably, this was the first room of the “second floor refurbishment project” the design team tackled.
Furniture was re-upholstered in fabrics selected by Mrs. Foster and her Executive Board with recommendations from the design team. A mahogany executive desk set, along with a leather swivel chair, were purchased from J.L. Musgrove Co., Inc. out of Dallas, Texas.
Placed over the demi lune cabinets, on either side of a large window, hang Friedman mirrors. These beautiful mirrors were donated to the Foundation by Avec Souci, a women’s group from Lafayette, in memory of a deceased member.
Carpet was replaced in this room and new window treatment was designed and hung by the design team. To complete this room, two black shaded lamps were given to the Foundation by the Franklin Republican Women.
