Capital Suite
This room, named for its breathtaking view of the state capitol, is the most elegant of all the guest rooms in the house. Dignitaries and heads of state, as well as special guests of the first family normally stay in this suite. The first task in the Capitol Suite was to paint the walls in navajo white. The sofa and chairs in this room were re-upholstered, the desk and end tables refinished and the carpet replaced. A new bedspread, bed skirt and draperies were made. The adjoining bathroom was also refurbished with new mirrors, wall paper and window treatment.
