Mission Statement and Purpose
Because of the importance of caring for the symbols of Louisiana’s rich, colorful, historical and political past, the Louisiana Governor’s Mansion Foundation’s mission is to finance, through the private sector, the refurbishment, preservation and operation of the Governor’s Mansion for the educational or cultural enhancement of the Governor’s Mansion for the people of Louisiana.
This corporation is a non-profit corporation. The object and purpose for which this corporation is organized and the nature of the business to be carried on by it are stated and declared to be as follows, so long as these objects and purposes are allowed under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, or the corresponding provision of any further United States Internal Revenue Law.
The establishment of the Louisiana Governor’s Mansion Foundation is to finance, through the private sector, the refurbishment, preservation and operation of the Governor’s Mansion for the people of Louisiana. The project will cast a new light on the importance of caring for the symbols of Louisiana’s rich, colorful, historical and political past. This undertaking will serve as a model for like endeavors of the future.
It is the intent and goal of the Louisiana Governor’s Mansion Foundation to solicit and accept or reject donations for the refurbishment, preservation and operations or any other such purpose, consistent with the above general purposes, for the educational or cultural enhancement of the Governor’s Mansion, as may be prescribed by the donor. The corporation may use donations generally given for any of the above stated general objects and purposes of the maintenance and expenses of the corporation. Donations may be made by way of manual gift, including limited gifts or donations of movable or immovable property, other grants and bequests or income, vested or contingent. Donations may be made either by intervivos donation or by mortis causa donation as the case may be.
